Dr Millat was president of Sandhai, Mymensingh Medical College and Central Secretary General of Sandhani National Eye Donation Society & Sandhani International Eye Bank, Bangladesh. Mr Millat also founded Sandhani Donor’s Clubs in Sirajgonj and Jamalpur.

 Dr. Millat was the Founder General Secretary of Bangladesh Postgraduate Doctors Association, Edinburgh in 1995. He established ‘Bangladesh Students House’ in Edinburgh with collaboration with The City of Edinburgh Council.

 When Dr M H Millat was General Secretary of this Bangladeshi Association Glasgow, he rebuilt ‘Harina Baghbati Primary girls school and Disaster Shelter’ Sirajgonj, in 1998. Dr Millat was founder general secretary of BangaBandhu Parishad, Scotland.

Dr Millat was founder of Ansary Foundation (AF)  This foundation helps poor meritorious student’s especially female students of  Sirajgonj district by giving them financial help in the form of ‘Ansary Memorial Scholarship’ to continue their study. Up to January, 2009, AF has supported over 400 students.

 Dr. Millat has founded the Mallika Sanaullah Ansary Junior School at the rural area of Sirajgonj, Bangladesh in January 2005.  Dr Millat also has founded the Mallika Scanaullah Ansary Computer Training Centre in Sirajgonj, to train unemployed people and students. Dr Millat has launched “One Lac Trees For Sirajgonj” project in February 2007. 

 Dr Millat was an active member of Douglas and District Lions club, Cork,  Lucan Lions club, . Irish Red Cross Society. Dr Millat is the founder President of Sonar Bangla, Bangladeshi Association of Cork.
